Story

Thank you for visiting my page and supporting a worthy cause which is close to my heart.

Commencing on 1st May '23, I will be embarking on a 21 mile swim (equivalent of crossing The Channel / 1352 lengths) during the month of May.

I am raising money for the Michael Pearson Hope Tribute Fund, in memory of my cousin, Michael who was 19 years of age when he passed away. Michael would have been 40 on the 8th May '23.

The Christie is one of the largest single-site cancer research and treatment centres in Europe; it has an international reputation for excellence. For more than 20 years we have been raising funds, in memory of Michael, for the Teenage and Young Adult Unit (Formerly The Young Oncology Unit - YOU) to help them expand their world class facilities, dedicated to helping identify, treat and cure cancer. It is vital that funds are kept available for scientists and clinicians to take their work forward. By providing these funds, an enormous difference will be made, not only to current patients and their families, but to cancer sufferers everywhere.
The TYA unit has inpatient and Day Unit services and, should it be required, separate accommodation for parents and carers. There are a number of social activities for patients, including a gym and music room.

Once again, thank you for your support.
